Obituary of Jack Townsend

Peacefully at North Lambton Lodge in Forest on May 20th, 2010. Jack West Townsend of Forest in his 87th year. Jack is predeceased by his loving wife Grace in March of 2008. Jack will be sadly missed by his loving children Rev. Marilyn Townsend-Smith (Paul) and Gary Townsend. Jack will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Aaron Havens (Nushin Farsian), Mindy Armour (Jeff), Sean Smith (Stephanie), Karen Schmidt (Jeremy) and by great grandchildren Kegan and Ava Smith, Kennedee and Benjamen Armour, Lucy Schmidt and Aahliana Havens. Jack is survived by his brother Doug Townsend (Joyce), nephews Peter Townsend (Lisa), David Townsend (Christine) and predeceased by nephew Jamie Townsend (June, 2008). Jack retired from the Toronto Transit Commission as Director of Safety and Security after 35 years of service. Jack was an officer of the Canadian Air Force and the Canadian Armed Forces and served his country proudly in World War II. Visitation will be held at the FOREST CHAPEL OF DENNING FUNERAL DIRECTORS on Wednesday, May 26th, 2010 from 1-2pm with Memorial Service following at 2pm with the Rev. Dr. Brad Morrison officiating. Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery. Donations to the London Road West United Church, North Lambton Lodge Auxiliary or Sarnia Humane Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
