Our Heritage
The towns of Strathroy, Ailsa Craig, Forest, Rodney, Watford and West Lorne have a lot in common. All six communities grew in response to the building and completion of railways that were carved through the virgin woodlands of southwestern Ontario.
Rurally based, these towns have grown to support the agricultural profession. Along with farming, our towns have industry, recreation and best of all, good people. It was this blend of attributes that brought the Denning family to Strathroy from Napier in West Middlesex in 1925. Basil and his brother Forrest purchased a undertaking and furniture store on Front St. and expanded their services into ambulance service. Basil's sons Bill and Al carried on the tradition as did their boys, Randy, Brad and Rick. The fourth generation of Denning's now operate the family business. "We can only hope that our efforts have measured up to the service rendered by all our predecessors"
