Obituary of Steve Van Den Nieuwenhuizen
Steve "Neuf" Van Den Nieuwenhuizen of Watford passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Victoria Campus of L.H.S.C, at the age of 49, with his beloved family by his side.
Steve is survived and forever cherished by his loving wife Tania (née Durston) and by his children Kaitlyn, Evan and Alayna. Steve will be dearly missed by his parents Pete and Ria Van Den Nieuwenhuizen and by his mother-in-law Debbie McMurchy (Bob). Steve is also remembered by his siblings Rob (Carrie) Van Den Nieuwenhuizen and Nancy (Ian) Nowicki. Steve will be remembered fondly by all of his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Steve took great pride in the family he and Tania created together. He was a very hands-on and attentive dad, and a loving and supportive husband.
Steve was a born farmer, and throughout his life got great satisfaction working the family farm on Lasalle Line with his father, his uncle Leo and, recently, with his children. He was happiest when snowmobiling with his friends, speeding through the trails on his latest Arctic Cat sled. He was always up for a conversation and a laugh with whomever he met, especially over a drink. Steve was in the midst of building a cottage in beautiful Restoule where he and the family loved spending time with each other and friends.
Steve was known among friends for never saying “goodbye,” he preferred to simply say, “later.”
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Neuf’s life and say “later” to a one-of-a-kind guy.
