To the family. Although Bob was often in our district painting, we only knew him to say Hi to. Last summer, we had to have our house painted and Bob took on the job. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed Bob and his dog Lexy. I couldn't believe he didn't add a surcharge for entertainment value. His quick wit, warm smile and laid back attitude while remaining professional was a skill very few tradesmen have perfected. We will miss him.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family, his friends, and his Lexy. You will have lost a very special person in your lives.

We asked Bob to paint our family cottage last year. We weren't there when Bob and Lexy came to paint. We arrived to a pleasant and thoughtful surprise...Bob had written this poem on the side of the cottage that we were prepping to re-shingle. Bob summed up what the cottage has always meant to our family in this kind and touching tribute, "create some memories". A reminder of all the great times shared by so many, past and present. Bob's poem is forever preserved under the new shingles. Thanks Bob!
To the Hollingsworth family, our sincere condolences.

We are deeply shocked and saddened to hear the tragic news of Bob’s passing, we have some great memories of Bob, one of the funniest was when Bob (Stewart) had a bet with him that Pittsburgh would win the Stanley Cup, he put a huge sheet on the wall of our house proclaiming that Detroit had won the cup. However, he had to return in the middle of the night with a 30ft ladder, hid behind a bush in our yard for about 30 minutes until the cops stopped driving by, so that he could take it down again because Pittsburgh ended up beating them! Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the family at this terribly sad time. You will be missed, RIP Bob

Anne and I were shocked and saddened by Bob’s sudden passing. Throughout his life he developed as a local icon. Mention the Paint Man and everyone knew who you were referring to and the reference always brought a smile. Bob was very protective of his Red Wings. I remember paying him for a paint job and I tried to sneak a couple of Montreal Canadien stickers on some of the bills. He caught them immediately and refused to take them. It was tough to pull one over on him. Rest in peace, Bob. You will be missed.

Bob was a person I was glad to call my friend. Our birthdays were a year and a day apart. We had a number of adventures through the years. When I moved back to Watford we hung around more. Corn fest was where he met Brenda we watched the sun come up from my porch. (Or maybe it surprised us) there are too many stories. All good. Going from race tracks to gravel pits. Evaluating the capacity of coolers. Surprising Paul Bershatsky in Chicago. Reviewing his picture wall in the garage. A skilled bar tender! Watching him celebrate the wings 3-pete! Then calling him every year when they lost a game in the playoffs ( or the rarer occasions when the leafs won one). He loved his dog and he liked people. Ran a successful business and loved all his family. He leaves a big hole in many lives. We cherish his memory.
Like many. I'm glad to call him my friend and will miss him.
My condolences and hugs go out to Wendy his girls, grandchildren sisters and all the rest of his family and friends.

I was a farm kid with no street smarts and thankfully Bob grew up in Watford with some smarts (lol) so he saved my life that day and I always kidded him about that night. Never be too busy to just be there. Rest in peace Bob - this community will feel your loss deeply. We are so sorry for your loss. Bob and his trusty companion have painted a few homes for us. Sometimes I think Lexy had more paint on her than Bob did. One thing I will never forget is his willingness to help out people in need. A neighbour of mine was painting and fell off a ladder.
