Another week has passed by out here in Vancouver BC. Phone calls and Tex's are coming in to me concerning Henry with many more wonderful memories. Linda Brown, Judie Whitby & John Suen worked with Henry & I at IDF Financial Services. Linda & John would prepare the material for us for our investment conference presentations and our weekly radio show. They send their sincere condolences to Henry's children and brothers, sisters, nieces & nephews. Don Fraser spent many a hours with Henry visiting at the office and the house where Henry spent many days/weeks one summer painting my home in after hours. We had barbeques together and Don sends his heartfelt love. Glenn Morchower from LA California roomed at the house on many occassions during his working projects on film sets in the Vancouver area. Glenn & Henry interacted on many conversations and Glenn flew in from LA this past week offering shared memories, support and condolences for many of us here in Vancouver that could not make the memorial service in Forest. Sid Kozak, Glenn's casting director, lite candles for Henry and all the warm memories that Henry left for so many of us here in Vancouver. Each of my siblings; Madeline, Richard, Larry & Michele from Forest called me and my mother too. Each knew how special it was for me to have Henry so close to me here in Vancouver for so many years. We have all shared our memories of Henry and voiced our condolences for Henry's family in our conversations. We miss Henry's smiling face and heavenly presence. What was he doing in LoneButt and how could such happen? It is difficult to be so far away from his memorial service and that must be difficult for his Cubian wife & family too. Many of my investment clients Henry and I shared (Henry would tend to their Insurance needs) have also shared their condolences with me this past week. It has been a feelings week out here in Vancouver for Henry and for his children, his brothers & sisters and his wife in Cuba. Know that we each care in our own special way and have wonderful memories of Henry with his 'happy' bounce, smiling face and intelligence too! He was so much part of our Vancouver family. I miss Henry so very much. We want to know Henry's resting spot; we want to send flowers.

Henry & I worked together in the brokerage industry during the 1990's. . . we had many a long nights work at the office creating financial projects. It is simply difficult for me to fathom that Henry isn't here today. I am 'attuning' this story as to 11:AM PST Saturday December 4th as to connect with Forest at this moment in Memory of Henry. I am viewing the GLOBAL INVESTMENT GUIDE magazine that Henry and I created, wrote, edited and published in 1995. This financial magazine hosted Henry's picture with Gordon Thiessen, Governor of the Bank of Canada, and many of Henry's financial writings along with his extensive professional bio. A few memory copies are available by emailing me. Pretty profound stuff! Henry also shared my financial radio show program, as co-host; a weekly program that aired through-out BC in 1997 and 1998. I actually have audio casset copies of these shows. We also shared money show exhibits, conference speaker programs that we hosted and a wide variety of economic courses. Henry was a major part of my daily professional life throughout most of the 1990's. I miss him dearly.
Being from the same home town of FOREST, the same church "ST CHRISTOPHERS" and both born & raised on farms brought us close in our understandings of one another as we worked in the financial field professionally here in Vancouver (3000 miles from home). We were friends and professional co-hards! A happy and soothing soul; always alert to many conversations of Sasha, Rebecca and Bodhi. Henry is very special to me and always will be. I miss him alot; not just today but always.

I am thinking of all of Henry's family today on December 4th as I write this, the brothers and sisters, the ones I went to school with in Forest and the one's that Henry spoke of so often as we worked together here in Vancouver during the 1990's. I am at loss for words. Henry was and is very special in my heart and soul. I posted a shared story on the next page. My heart goes out to Sasha, Rebecca and Bodhi. Dignora too. Many of Henry's friends and associates have called me here in Vancouver this past week; they send their condolences too! Many that worked with Henry at IDF Financial Services in Vancouver are sending their love and thoughts too. We miss him. Henry was the 'HAPPY' man in our office; we all loved and admired him so much. He will be missed deeply and loved forever.

This photo was taken in one of my husband's visits to Cuba, which is next to my brother Rey Santiago (Chago), we went to a celebration for adoptive grandmother died several years ago, in the celebrations here Cuba, we put flowers, candles in honor of the deceased and also make prayers, prayers, for it was his first experience in this kind of celebration, he said he liked to share with us, it was the first time I saw something like this, and in Canada, had a different culture, after this celebration, we stayed for a while where my father lived, brothers and his wife, spent some time with them and we headed back to Holguin. My brother who lives in the picture with me and my husband give thanks for this, because although I wanted that live with me was my duty to consult with him and voice your opinion, when you tell if you just said that I wanted it bring him to live in our house here in Cuba. I was very happy and gave this answer a thousand times thank you, and not only thank you for agreeing to bring my brother live in our house, thanks for being the wonderful human being and special it was, for coming into my heart , for being so cute, sweet, loving, miss him very much, very much.

I would just like to say how sorry I am to all of Henry's family for their loss. I know you just lost your father but to lose a brother that had become so vibrant in the last few years is a great sadness. I didn't know Henry very well but he sure seemed happy whenever I saw him (and not just because of his shirts). I know how tough the Van Kessel family is and I know you will all help each other in this time of need. Joan

"Death is the door we pass through from here to Eternity". Henry ran a good race and he passed on to eternity while on his way to help his fellowman. What a great way to reach the end of his journey! To the Van Kessel family, our deepest sympathy. May the above thought sustain you in your sorrow and give you peace.
