Uncle Murray surely will be missed! I posted a picture of him, me and baby chicks. That was the highlight of every visit. One time he even had a box full of them in the kitchen. I never wanted to leave!... He said I could even bring one home, and just bring it back when it got ugly... Mom and Dad never let me though. I also remember climbing an apple tree to feed the apples to the pigs. Almost ended it there too when I fell in the ice covered horse trough. I thought it would be a good skating rink. Apparently my brother saved me. All I recall is drying off by the woodstove and having milk bags over my feet in my boots to travel home with. Going to the farm and visiting the barn was always an adventure. I have so many memories from those times that a lot of people my age missed out on. It was going back to simpler times, and gaining an appreciation for the land, hard work, and "the farm". I loved going to visit and asking Uncle Murray to take to the barn to see the animals. I was a shy kid who would never go with anyone without Mom and Dad beside me, yet traipse behind him I would. From baby pigs, to baby chicks, kitties, to the year he had bunnies. I loved it all, and those are times I will NEVER forget. Thanks for the memories Uncle Murray. You will be sadly missed, and live forever on in our hearts. You've enriched the lives of many!!! Always being my favourite Uncle, living independently of children and a spouse, yet sharing such a love of kids I am following in his footsteps, and can only aspire to be such a patient, gentle, kind and nurturing person as he was. And so much fun too!! May your memories live in us forever

When I think about Uncle Murray, I have to smile, because all my memories are of him joking around, being silly or his quirky comebacks to things people said and his love for pie, especially pumpkin. No matter how much he teased you, you couldn't be angry with him because you could see how much fun he was having and that he was just doing it in fun. Wish I could have spent more time with him. Rest in Peace Uncle Murray free from pain, hope they have a pumpkin pie waiting for you. Sending our condolences to all of his family and friends. Uncle Murray you were a very colourful thread in the fabric of all of our lives.
