Dear Tom, Karen, Eleanor, Allan and Families: Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. Gertie has always been a wonderful person and such a ray of sunshine in our lives. She will be missed, but our treasured memories of her from over the many years will help to ease the sadness of loosing her. All of us are so lucky to have had her in our lives and for so many years. Mom will especially miss those long chats she had with her cousin and friend. They so connected and spent many hours talking over the past few years. As Mom mentioned she is not well enough to make the trip to Rodney but although both she and I are not with you we want you to know we are and will be thinking of you and saying a prayer for our dear cousin, Gertie. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Arlene

Hi Kelly and the whole family: Sorry I wasn't there tonight as I didn't view my MSN until tonight. I will not be able to come for the funeral tomorrow either. I'm so sorry. I remember your Gramma's goodies in our Westervelt days. That is a beautiful picture of her posted on the site. I will be thinking of you tomorrow. We'll talk soon.

Cheryl, Brad, Brennan, Stephanie and Shannon, My heart goes out to you my friend. I know your love for your Grandmother was immeasurable. Your eyes would shine and your smile would radiate when you told the latest story of Grandma Leitch. The look on your face will stay with me always. Even though I didn't know your Grandmother, through you, she has made a lasting impression. With deepest warmth, Karen Osterberg

So sorry to hear about your mom and grandmother passing away. I lived next to Mrs. Leitch on Wharncliffe Road for many years. Both she and Floyd were wonderful neighbours to the four of us girls. They were always very kind to all of us. It was always fun to have new playmates when the grandchildren would come on weekends to visit! You were very lucky to have 2 such wonderful people in your lives. Cherish your memories, From the Payne Family, Don, Lee, Janice, Ellen, Erin and Andrea

Uncle Tom, Aunt Karen, Kim, Perry, Steve and kids, It saddens me to hear of Gertie's passing. I have many fond childhood memories of time spent with her attending the Leitch picnic at their home or sauerkraut making day. I also look back and laugh at all of the elderberries that we had to pick and clean for her -- at my father's insistence. Our hands were purple for weeks. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you say goodbye to one fine lady. Love & Hugs, Tracy
