Obituary of Donald McKellar

McKellar, Donald John Donald (Don) McKellar, 66, of Forest, died peacefully on the evening of December 25th, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospice in Sarnia after a valiant fight against cancer. He leaves his beloved wife Bonnie; his son Todd McKellar and his wife Michelle of Delaware; and his daughter Tanya Leyerzapf and her husband Chris of Vienna, Virginia. With heart-felt sorrow he also leaves behind his six, loving grandchildren, Jordan, Kenzie, Zoey, and Rylan McKellar, along with Carsten and Ilse Leyerzapf. Don is the cherished son of Pauline McKellar and the late Jack McKellar, dear brother of Bob (Bernice), Ron (Barbara), Bill (Dianne), sisters-in-law Beverly and Debbie, and is predeceased by brothers Dan and Ken. Donald is predeceased by his father-in-law Percy and mother-in-law Betty Brush, but is survived by his brother-in-law Jim Brush (Barb) and sister-in-law Helen Deline (Rob). Don was an extremely active individual and led a fulfilling life, focusing his early years on raising his family and a successful career at Imperial Oil, while his later years provided an opportunity for travel and contributing to the community. A celebration of his life will be held for family and friends at the Forest Canadian Legion, Branch 176, on Saturday, January 4th, 2014 from 1-4pm.
