I was extremely saddened to learn of the passing of Ruth, my first cousin once removed (first cousin of my late father, John Elwin "Dick" Earley). Condolences to Ruth's sister Marilyn, children and grandchildren. I am grateful that Ruth and I were able to connect 8 or 9 years ago and do a family history/genealogy tour of Strathroy, Watford and Alvinston. I have cherished photos of our visit and my favorite, Ruth standing in front of the Gardenia Restaurant in Strathroy. What a beautiful video/slide tribute to Ruth. I was in tears through most of it.

To the three 'boys" Greg Galipeau noticed your Mom's obit, and kindly sent it to me. I moved to Ancaster two years ago and have lost touch with the old gang. Jim and I arrived at Denning's with a heavy heart. We had just lost our best friend; nevertheless, chatting with Ruth's loving family gave us an opportunity to share our grief with those who walk in our shoes. I immediately observed some of Ruth's exquisite quilts on display which called to mind our living room wall quilt and queen size bedspread quilt gifted to the MacLeods by this multi-talented lady. Today you shared with everyone present a kaleidoscope of Bob and Ruth's long, happy life together - parents dedicated to the well being of their family. Our life has been enriched these past 39 years thanks to our treasured friendship. Affectionately, Gloria (and Jim) MacLeod

my name is Caroly McCoy and I am writing this for my mother Doris Levitt (nee Fulton) to express her very sincere sympathy of the loss of your mother. My mother grew up in Strathroy and she has told me lots of stories about working at Earley's Restaurant with your mum. She also really liked your grandmother mrs. Earley. She told me that your grandmother was like a 2nd mother to her. She also said that she and your mum worked hard but had lots of fun together. They were good friends. When you lived in Curruna we visited you a few times. Over the years somehow mom lost track of your family ,but she has never forgotten her friendship with the Early family and especially your mum. My mum is in a nursing home, is wheel chair bound and is starting to have some dementia. For those reasons I can't bring her to the funeral. She was sad to hear the news. It is so difficult to lose a loved one. Sincerely Doris Levitt and Carolyn McCoy

Condolences to the McLachlan Family. I first had the pleasure of meeting Ruth as she contacted our family while having her car serviced in St. Marys. Then we met again as she organized a get together for the "Dowding" Clan members. My Great Grandmother was a Dowding, and my Grandmother was Ethel (Fuller) Mallalieu. As a youngster I remember going to the "Gardenia" to have a visit and lunch with "Cousin Eva" as my Grammie would say. Ruth was a wealth of information on the family and I do regret not getting more from her as the get togethers came to an end to soon. She had a great spirit and was spunky at those meeting and enjoyed the social aspect. I am sure you have many memorable and heartwarming moments to remember, take comfort in those.
