35 years ago I meant both Sue and Mario at Ridgetwon College. In fact Sue and I both worked in the barns on weekends and we became good friends at the time. To Thelma Picken and family, I was deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Sue and her husband Mario.Having only seen Susie a few times in her adult life;I remember her most as Linda-Kay's little sister who was always around when Linda-Kay and I were playing.My heart absolutely breaks for the entire Picken and Gubbels family. I can't imagine the pain you must all be suffering. I wish I could be there to give you all a "hug". I shall be thinking of you all and keeping you in my prayers until I see you back in Lennoxville. It is hard to find the words to express my sadness at the passing of cousin Susie and her husband Mario. From across the miles, I find my self drifting back to childhood days on Winder Street, playing hopscotch with Susie and Brenda Lee, and waiting excitedly for the local bakery van to stop outside Aunt Thelma's house; so we could buy a strawberry cream puff or a chocolate Joe Louie... Dear Aunt Thelma and families, during this tragic time may you find some comfort in the love that surrounds you, both near and far. I am sending this on behalf of Aunt Jean .We visited her and she was very shaken by such a tragic thing.She recalled having tea-time last summer with Sue. At such a time words are not easily found to express the love and saddnes felt for all the family-for Thelma and family and for Mrs.Gubbel.Jean is very family -oriented and all of this hits her very hard. Amanda, I sent a letter to the Rotary Club a couple of months back, and I'm told that after the letter was read, Sue yelled out, "Is that OUR Alida?" That made me smile, because I know she really would have yelled that out (extremely loudly of course), and it's nice to know that she was still supportive all these years after I moved away. I can't imagine the Rotary Club without either of them. I'm so sorry for your loss, but I know that you, your family and the entire community of Watford will keep them in their hearts and memories, so they will continue to live on in each of us.

Words cannot adequately express the shock and sorrow we feel in learning of the loss of such fine people in the prime of their lives . ,Also for their family. I lost my son to an accident and was thankful no one else was involved as there could have been other young people with him in his car.
