Obituary of Thomas Copeland

Thomas "Roy" Copeland

Surrounded by his loving family on September 25, 2024, Thomas Copeland passed away at the age of 66. Tom was the devoted husband of Helen, married for 15 years and together for 26. He was the loving father to Garret (Michaela) and Tanner. Tom is survived by his sister Fran (the late Bob, 2022) Woods. He was the uncle to Scott (Shannon), Mark (Shiann), Tara (Tom), and Michael (Jolene). Tom was predeceased by his parents Harold (2007) and Dora (2019), brother Johnny (1967), sister Mary Anne (2023), and his furry friends Sonny and Bobke. Tom is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family from the Copeland and Woodall families. He will be missed by his cherished furry companions Nola, Odin, Bain, and Maren.

Tom was a devoted member of the Watford Legion for many years. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in Southern Ontario before moving to Northern Ontario where he built dams for Ontario Power. He loved watching sports and playing hockey. He was a talented goalie for the Watford Generals. Tom had a soft spot for animals, especially his dogs.

Visitation will be held on Monday September 30, 2024, at DENNING’S OF WATFORD from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. A funeral service will take place following visitation at 1:00pm at the funeral home. A private burial will follow at Watford Cemetery. A reception to celebrate Tom’s life will be held at the Watford Legion following the funeral service.
