Obituary of Joseph William Watson
On February 28th, 2023, Joe Watson passed away at the age of 78. Joe is survived by his best friend and life-long partner in crime Holly. Joe was a loving father to Jason, Rachelle, Griff, and Heather. He will be remembered fondly by his grandchildren James and Tori (Steven) and his memory will live on through his great grandchildren Aislin and Cian. Joe is survived by his siblings Elizabeth (the late Ollie), Pauline (Ken), Margaret (Ken), Rose-Marie (Alan), Marion, his brother-in-law Griff (Cheryl), and sister-in-law Carol (the late Willie). Joe is also survived by his extended family Maureen, Valerie, and Patti. Sadly, Joe was predeceased by his sister Jean (the late Ron), sister-in-law Anne, and his granddaughter Jana. Joe will be missed very much by his furry friends Rocky and Tassie.
Joe loved fishing and spending time outdoors on his numerous family adventures. He was a Scouts leader for many years and was affectionately referred to as “Scouter Joe”. Joe was an avid Trivial Pursuit player and could beat just about anyone. There was nothing that Joe couldn’t build or figure out. Whether it be woodworking, tuning cars , completing jigsaw puzzles, or solving murder mysteries, Joe could find an answer. Joe may have been quiet, but he had that quick British wit and appreciated a good joke. He spent many years working at TSC and developed a reputation as being “Mr. Fix-It”. Joe will always be remembered for being creative and for his ability to “MacGyver” anything.
A Celebration of Life for Joe will be held on Sunday March 5th, 2023, from 1:00pm until 4:00pm at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY.
