I have known John and his family for over 30 years. I will always remember John coming in with a twinkle in his eye and bringing me venison pepperettes every year. He was such a thoughtful person who showed his kindness in a quiet way and I always looked forward to his visits. I will always have fond memories of not just John himself but of Vicky, Jacob and Jessica. With all my love Danny Li

Vicky, Jessica, Jacob & Scott – I am just so sorry to hear of John’s passing. Laura has kept us current on his struggles & progress in the past few months and we were all hoping for a successful recovery. He was the best neighbor anyone could have and helped my parents in so many ways. His kindness and soft mannerism were clearly one of his greatest assets, along with his passion for animals, farming and exploring the great outdoors. He always made the unexpected effort to make people smile; just loved the Canada flags along the farm to celebrate the 150 years of Canada! My kids still talk of Jessica & Jacob bringing over the raccoons for friendly visit. Unfortunately I cannot attend the service on Saturday; but will be with you in throughs and prayers. I hope the unlimited memories of John will help you all get through this difficult time. Janice (Edgar) van Wyk
