Obituary of Marie McCracken

Peacefully at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on September 6th, 2022, Marie McCracken passed away in her 94th year. Loving mother of Donald Patterson and Joy, Margaret (Andrew) Fisher-Lloyd, Kenneth (Rita) Patterson, and Ian (Vivian) Patterson. Proud grandma of Krista and Michael Fisher; Shawn (Chrissy), Holly, and Tim (Sabrina) Patterson; and Nicholas Patterson. Great-grandmother of Nicole and Carter Patterson; and Chloe Patterson. Marie is also the grandmother of several honorary grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marie is survived by her sister Vida. Marie is predeceased by her husbands Russell McCracken (2012), Neil Patterson (1978), and Ken Sifton (1991). Marie was predeceased by her siblings Norma, Margaret, and Donald. Marie will be greatly missed by a number of extended family members and dear friends. 

Marie loved to travel, listen to music, play cards, and pick berries. Marie has travelled to 23 different countries and loved to spend her winters in Florida. Marie would travel from coast-to-coast visiting her family. She would often share these special trips with her friends, creating incredible memories. In her early years, Marie loved to refinish furniture. Marie had a passion for shopping and hosting dinner/card parties. She loved and valued humanitarian work and had an incredible social life. Marie could make friends with anyone. 

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Sprucedale Care Centre and all of its nurses and doctors. 

A private family burial has taken place at Arkona Cemetery. Public visitation will be held on Saturday, September 10th, 2022 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at DENNING'S OF WATFORD. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00pm at the funeral home.
