Obituary of Abigail Marie Josephine Mitchell

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful daughter, Abigail Marie Josephine, who was born sleeping on March 4th, 2022.

Our sweet baby knew she was far too good for this world. 26 weeks of nothing but pure joy, 26 weeks of excitement, 26 weeks of memories. The only memories we will have with her. We are so unbelievably thankful for the 26 weeks we had.  We were blessed watching you grow inside. We wish nothing more than to have been able to watch you grow earth side too. You are by far the best thing that has happened to us.

She is deeply loved by many, including her parents Savannah Menard and Ryan Mitchell, grandparents Stephanie Menard, Mike Preece, Josie and Leonard Mitchell.  Her godparents Casey and Jessica Vanderheide, Uncle Brandon Vanderheide and Aunt Nicole Aarts.  She is also missed by her great grandparents, Andre and Brenda Menard and Shirley-Mae Mitchell, her great aunts and uncles and many handpicked aunts, uncles, and cousins. We are all so lucky to have such a beautiful angel watching over us.

We would like to thank all the staff that helped us at LHSC.  Your care and compassion during this very difficult time will never be forgotten.

We are comforted in knowing that Abigail is with people who love us and that we will one day get to hold our sweet baby girl again.

As expressions of sympathy, donations are welcome to be made to the London Health Sciences Centre, Birthing & Triage Unit and the NICU.

A Celebration of Life will be held, please contact the family for more details.

We will forever cherish the short time we got to spend on earth with you in our arms. Your tiny hands that have had daddy wrapped around them from the day we found out about you. Your beautiful little face that I have dreamed about my entire life.

I know one day we will meet, and we will get to see your beautiful eyes and hear your contagious laugh but for now, I hope you watch over us and help us get through the pain of losing you, the most outstanding daughter we could have asked for.

“I’ll like you for always, I’ll love you forever, as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be.”
