Dear Don, Myah, Carla and Erika, Please accept our sincere condolences upon your mother's passing. She was such a very special person; there has never been anyone who could care for so many children with genuine love the way she did. Eric, Sophie and Chantal have so many wonderful memories of her and the times they spent "at Carol's," and we will carry them with us for the rest of our lives. She was a blessing in our lives, and we are honoured to have known her.

Having lost my mother at a young age I know how you are feeling. Know that the memories you have of her, each one of you hold them close to your hearts and she she will be with you every day of your lives. Having read all of the messages I can truly tell you that she was an amazing woman - the best babysitter West Elgin ever had. She 'raised' quite a few of our young ones for a lot of years. Know that you are all in my thoughts during this time. Big hugs going out to all of you.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of your mom, our prays are with you. Your mom touched so many lives, and will be forever remembered in the hearts of all the children she touched. I use to ask her how she could handle all those children, she simply smiled and said "cause I love them". Love them she did, she was not a babysitter at all, she was family. She was the grandma most children never had. We will all miss you Carol very much but you will always be in our heart.

It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to my oldest and dearest friend. The years for the most part were generous with loving family and friends to share our big and small moments. Our friendship stretched the distance between us and always the shared moments during a e-mail, a phone call or visit brought us back to the special times of our lives. I will truly miss you Carol.......God Bless & may your journey continue peacefully until we see each other again.

Our thoughts of Carol are of a welcoming morning smile each day she became the "safe haven" for our children. She worried that she would scare our children while she was putting up such a courageous fight of her own. Our last memory is of her showing Connor her new hairdo. He smiled and of course referred a comparison to a hockey player who had shaved his head bald. That made Carol laugh and smile. Carol always spoke of her children with pride and love. She has raised so many of OUR children. An excellent person, warm and caring. God has called her, for alot of us, too soon. Keep smiling Carol. Much love. The "Grextons"

To Myah, Carla and Erika - we were sorry to learn this afternoon of the passing of your dear mother. She was a kind lady, and I recall her from our school days as always being considerate of everyone. I enjoyed a visit with her several months ago in the parking lot at the grocery store, and I understood from her comments that she was ill, but had great hope for her future. I am sure you will miss her greatly. Our thoughts will be with you in the coming weeks. Dorothy & Duncan Gillies

Carol came into our life 7 years ago when we moved our family to West Lorne and in that time she became a permanent fixture in our family. Our children had another grandma in their hearts and we had a friend. She opened her home and let all of us in and for that, we will always be thankful. I only wish that we had been able to spend more time with her in the end. We will miss her.

It is with great sadness that we hear of Carol's passing. Carol was a beautiful lady whom shall missed and remembered with much affection. Carol helped many young families raise their children and with loads of kindness and devotion. She helped raise my youngest as well as my little grand-daughter.
