Obituary of Gordon Brooks

Brooks, Mr. Gordon It is with great dignity and his family by his side, Gordon Brooks passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2011. Gord was a loving husband of fifty four years to Marianne. Loving father to Carl (Daphne) of Forest. Father in law to Cathy (late Gregory) of St. Thomas. Grandfather to David (Crystal), Ryan, and Emily. Great grandfather to Kadin. Gord was predeceased by his eldest son Gregory Gordon in 2008, his parents Lottie and Oswald, his brother Leslie and sister Dorothy. Before his retirement in 1986, Gord was a boilermaker at Imperial Oil in Sarnia for 42 years. He was an associate Legion member at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 388 Wyoming for 39 years. After his retirement Gord was a spokesman and then president of the Farm Safety Association in Lambton County. Gord was also a prize ticket salesman to support the Warwick Fire Department. Gord was a great family man and an excellent farmer and will be missed by his family and 4th Line neighbours, especially at the "Coffee Club" Friends may call at the WATFORD CHAPEL OF DENNING FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 232 Warwick Street, Watford, on Thursday, August 11, 2011, from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel on Friday morning at 11:00 am. Interment of ashes to follow at the Watford Cemetery.
