Herman was an amazing neighbour and man. I remember when we moved across the old dirt road from Herman and he came over to introduce himself. He was tickled to show 16 year old city girl me his brand new piglets. I still remember his proud face and big smile as he told me about all about them. I'm afraid to say I wasn't as impressed as he likely hoped id be but eventually I grew to love and now miss the scents that came across to our house when the wind blew just right. Dad and Herman got along like peas and carrots. They had a special friendship and mutal respect, taking care of each other as neighbours do. Rest in peace Herman! I imagine your big farm in heaven has been tended well by Gerry as she waited for your arrival.
